POOLE, UNITED KINGDOM - March 20, 2002 - BakBone Software (TSE: BKB), a global provider of storage management software was given the royal seal of approval yesterday at CeBIT. HRH Prince Andrew, the Duke of York visited one stand in each of the 27 halls. The stand that received the most number of visitors during the show was honored with a visit from Prince Andrew. Despite fierce competition from the other 11 British exhibitors in Hall 5, BakBone won out, having received significantly more visitors than any other British exhibitor.
The Duke spent almost half an hour on the stand chatting to BakBone representatives and seemed fairly knowledgeable about the technology industry. Sean Jackson, EMEA Marketing Manager for BakBone who spent some time with the Duke said: "We were delighted to receive such a high profile visitor and one who is keen to expand his technical knowledge. By the end of the visit he understood the need for storage, particularly in relation to the monarchy's website!”
