SAN DIGO, CALIFORNIA - July 29, 2002 - BakBone Software, a global provider of storage management software announced today the appointment of John Boose, President of The Strategic Leadership Group located in Loveland, Colorado, to its board of directors. Boose specializes in consulting in the areas of strategic business planning, marketing strategies and business partnerships. Boose is also on the faculty at the Kenneth Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado where he serves as the Robert G. Tointon Distinguished Professor of Technology Management and teaches courses in Strategic Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Production Management.

Previously, Mr. Boose worked for Hewlett Packard Company from 1973 to 1997 where he served in a variety of senior executive positions, primarily in the storage division. After working twelve years in various sales and marketing management positions, he spent eight years as the General Manager of the Greeley Storage Division in Colorado and then, Computer Peripherals Bristol in the U.K. In his last assignment he served nearly four years as the President of Colorado Memory Systems, which was a wholly owned subsidiary of Hewlett Packard.

(a storage management software company headquartered in Boulder, Colorado). In addition, Mr. Boose serves on the Kenneth Monfort College of Business Entrepreneurship Center Advisory Board.
