Plasmon's single-drive LTO Autoloader, introduced today, is designed for SAN connectivity with Fibre Channel or SCSI options, both of which are supported by NetVault. In addition, with its high native capacity (100 GB per cartridge) and fast data transfer rates of between 15-20 megabytes per second, the new AutoLoader is targeted toward high-performance back-up and restore for small and medium-sized businesses and government agencies. High performance is an expressed goal of LTO technology, standardizing the advantages of linear multi-channel bi-directional tape formats in common usage today, with a wide range of enhancements to maximize capacity and performance.
