To address this "data swamp," three industry leaders - Ricoh Silicon Valley (RSV), NSM Storage, Inc, and BakBone Software (TSE: BKB, OTCBB: BKBOF) - today announced their agreement to jointly develop a solution to intelligently manage the influx of this data. The three companies' combined expertise will enable them to create an ideal solution for handling data capture, storage, and retrieval challenges: NAS for NOA (Network Attached Storage for Networked Office Appliances).

The key elements of the NAS for NOA solution include:

• Ricoh Silicon Valley's first Network Office Appliance, eCabinet, which will serve as the solution's capture, search, and retrieval platform. Known in the industry for its ability to "Save Everything, Find Anything", the eCabinet will enable the solution to readily capture, digitally file, and retrieve emails, faxes, copies, scans, and Web pages.
  
  
• An NSM DVD-RAM Jukebox, which will provide the Network Attached Storage system, will easily extend eCabinet's data storage capacity by 500GB. The internal document storage of the NSM NAS for NOA Jukebox will include multiple DVD-RAM drives.
  
  
• BakBone Software's optical storage management software, which will provide the solution's critical layer of data management, and enable companies to seamlessly connect multiple eCabinets with NSM jukeboxes. Known as an established market leader in UNIX environments, the BakBone software will permit companies to maximize the eCabinet's power and simplicity.
