(TSE: BKB, OTC: BKBOF), a global provider of storage management software, today announced that its NetVault™ data backup/restore software has been named as one of Imaging and Document Solutions Magazine's "Products of the Year 2000."

The award, in the January 2001 issue, says "the lead is held by NetVault" in possessing the power needed to make various data storage hardware work together across different topologies, such as storage area networks (SANs) and network-attached storage (NAS). The magazine's editors wrote, "NetVault combines all the tools necessary for storage and Storage Area Network management. NetVault's competition…is not quite ready for storage area networks. And NetVault's competition from the storage networking side doesn't have the library management tools."

The editors also cited NetVault's compatibility across UNIX, Linux and Windows platforms with its single user interface. NetVault is the only storage management software to receive the Imaging and Document Solutions Magazine award, joining other honorees such as Seagate Technology's Viper 200 Ultrium® LTO tape drive and Spectra Logic's Spectra 12000 and 64000 tape libraries.
