SAN DIEGO, August 2, 2000 - BakBone Software (TSE: BKB, OTCBB: BKBOF) today announced the formation of its world-class technical support centers, designed to provide unparalleled assistance to its customers, including live-time response in as little as 15 minutes.
Today's announcement comes two days after BakBone formally launched its NetVault™ storage management software throughout North America. NetVault features the ability to easily manage the most intensive backup, restore and archiving functions across a wide range of computer platforms. NetVault's scalable, advanced modular architecture operates across distributed heterogeneous client/server and multi-user environments, and is designed for the emerging generation of network storage applications, such as storage area networks (SANs).
BakBone said it will staff customer support centers around the globe in a "follow the sun" approach, helping to ensure a rapid, personalized response to customers who require technical assistance. "We are committed to building the kind of organization that will provide companies with the absolute highest level of support," said Tim Miller, BakBone's Director, Client Services. He noted BakBone's focus on "knowledge engineering," stating that BakBone will work to resolve any situation once, and immediately making that information available to other BakBone customers, in order to maximize uptime and provide a higher level of service.
Miller cited BakBone's proactive corporate philosophy of working with clients, saying, "We have made it a point of differentiation that we partner to prevent issues. If a customer contacts us with an issue, we will work to resolve that issue immediately, regardless of the cause."

BakBone's service pledge extends to every customer purchasing NetVault. Two levels of service will be available; Standard service, which is bundled with the product, and Enterprise-level service, available at an additional charge. The Enterprise-level service offering features around-the-clock support, with live response time from BakBone personnel within 15 minutes at any time (day or night) for high-priority issues, as well as free updates, as NetVault adds improved functions.
