Tracer Announces Linux Support for MagnaVault.

GAITHERSBURG, MD, April 12, 1999 - Tracer Technologies is pleased to announce that MagnaVault, Tracer's flagship software storage solution for Unix, is now available in Beta for the Linux operating system. Support for all popular optical, CD, DVD, tape drives and libraries is included.

``Having a Linux product plays to our strengths,'' said Mike Barcus, Tracer's VP of Sales. ``Linux is an operating system and software combination that has a lot of technical merit. It's up to vendors like us to give our customers the support they need to produce viable solutions on Linux. We feel that by bringing Tracer's brand of industrial-strength, commercial-quality software to the Linux arena, we create new markets and offer our customers new capabilities. Based on the recent groundswell of support for Linux expressed by other major software and hardware vendors, we are not alone in reaching this conclusion.''

Tracer's MagnaVault product line of large-scale, secondary storage management software includes device drivers, file systems, data migration, CD and DVD authoring, and browser-based storage management tools. MagnaVault( for Linux will be available for Beta testing May 1, 1999, for Linux version 2.0.36 and above for Intel x86-based systems, with other platforms to follow later.
